ETHEL CAIN-PRECHERS DAUGHTER INDIE EXCLUSIVE WITH POSTER

Preacher's Daughter is a concept album by Ethel Cain that tells a dark, fictional story rooted in themes of family trauma and sexual violence, drawing from her own background as the daughter of a deacon. The album blends genres like Americana, dark ambient, and more, creating a haunting sonic palette. Cain cites influences like Florence + the Machine and Lana Del Rey in shaping her vocal style. The record is steeped in Southern Gothic imagery, with strong religious and Americana aesthetics throughout.
Ahead of its release, the singles “Gibson Girl,” “Strangers,” and “American Teenager” dropped between March and April 2022, the last of which was accompanied by a music video. To support the album, Cain launched two major tours—The Freezer Bride Tour (2022) and The Blood Stained Blonde Tour (2023)—performing across North America, Europe, and Oceania.
