Motley Crue led the early 80's glam metal movement in L.A. Borrowing elements of theatrical arena-rock from Kiss, trashy glam from The New York Dolls, and pop sensibilities from Cheap Trick, the Crue eventually became one of the most popular rock bands of the decade. TOO FAST FOR LOVE, the band's debut, was first released independently but was soon remixed and reissued on Elektra. The music and its message may have been simple, but the metal underground immediately took notice of the Crue and its crude debut, and the group broke into the big-time with its next release, SHOUT AT THE DEVIL.
"Live Wire," the rocking tale of an unstoppable, violent street thug, sets the tone for TOO FAST, one of Motley Crue's strongest and most consistent releases. "Come On And Dance," "Merry Go Round," "Starry Eyes," and "On With The Show" are melodic hard rock candy, while "Public Enemy #1," "Take Me To the Top," "Piece of Your Action," and the title track are all unruly rockers. The 1999 re-issue of TOO FAST FOR LOVE contains several previously unreleased bonus tracks, including "Stick To Your Guns" and "Toast of the Town."
